A home should be easy to get into when you have the key—and secure when you leave.
New keys for a new chapter
If you have moved into a home, changed tenants, or lost track of spare keys, start by asking about rekeying. On compatible locks, rekeying changes the key that operates the cylinder without replacing every piece of hardware. It is worth checking the lock’s condition at the same time: a loose latch, misaligned strike, or worn deadbolt may need attention of its own.
When the door is the problem
A key that turns reluctantly does not always mean you need a new lock. Describe whether the door opens easily when unlocked, whether you have to lift or pull it, and whether the problem started suddenly. Those details help us prepare for the visit. Avoid forcing a key that is bent or beginning to crack.
Before we visit
- Tell us whether you are locked out or can still open the door.
- Count the doors or cylinders you want to discuss.
- Keep any working keys and photos of the existing hardware handy.
- Ask about availability, the estimate, and ownership documentation.
